The Original Furbaby

Cato has enjoyed all the new things in which to sleep. And has enjoyed the millions of boxes that have invaded our house. He thinks it is all for him. While on the changing pad, he actually let me put a diaper on him, giving me his warning face. He jumped out before we could take a picture of it.

We ended up not keeping this very frilly bassinet. Cato was crushed.

He loves the Preggle pillow. Perfect kitty shape.

Cato is unusual in that he likes to go for rides, or at least it seems like he doesn't mind. He was hoping to get out for a drive.

I think they're all staging a revolt.

The preggie pillow is an all time fave of my two beasty cats too. Yours is a cutie! I love the shot on the changing table!

Have you ever heard of that cat germ that is supposed to be dangerous to babies? I'm sorry I can't remember the name.

There is no 'cat germ' that is dangerous to babies. There are plenty of human germs that are.

But there can be a spore called toxoplasmosis found in outdoor cat's feces. Toxoplasmosis infects cats who eat birds or mice who are infected or eat undercooked meat. (Toxoplasmosis is also found in undercooked meat that people eat, too. That's why they tell pregnant women to not eat sushi or deli meat.) It takes a few days for the spores to grow to a dangerous level. So they tell pregnant women to not change the litter box. But I am not worried because (1) our cats are indoor, and (2) the poopies are cleaned out twice a day. Mark does it anyway, cuz he is sweet like that.

But pregnant women should avoid outdoor cat's feces, and undercooked meats, sushi, and deli meats. If infected, the toxoplasmosis will affect the fetus.

Thanks for the great question.

Thanks for the excellent answer! I didn't know that it was an outdoor cat thing.
